The Motherbody Movement

Helping mothers find moments of goodness in their body and life.

Because Motherhood changes everything.

And you were never meant to do it alone.

The Motherbody Movement offers ongoing postpartum care for the long middle years of motherhood.

For when support disappears, but the load doesn’t.

Inside, you’ll move through a seasonal cycle of core recovery, restorative movement, and nervous system care, helping you come back to yourself inside real life.

This isn’t about ‘fixing’ you or getting back to ‘normal’.

It’s about being gently held, as you become a Mother.

Because postpartum doesn’t end at six weeks.

Join us in the Motherbody Movement.

$60 per month or $150 for three months.

Created by postpartum doula, Pilates teacher, Shiatsu therapist, and perinatal somatic practitioner Sophie Jeffries.

Your body is where motherhood is lived.

It’s where you grow life, give birth, recover, transform, lose yourself, and find yourself again. And inside this, there are moments of goodness too.

Motherhood asks you to carry a lot.

The physical load.
The mental load.
The emotional load.
The invisible load of always being needed.

And nearly always, support fades long before the load does.

But mums keep functioning.
Caring. Planning. Holding.
Getting through each day.

Until sometimes, they begin to forget who they are.

Their body aches and pains loudly, while what lights them up goes quiet, and they start to feel like they’re disappearing inside.

Rest feels impossible. Joy feels imaginary. And life feels completely exhausting.

Not because they’re failing.
But because they were never meant to mother without the village.

And yet even in overwhelm, it’s possible to find moments of goodness.

Where something in you softens.
You notice your breath. Your baby in your arms. The leaves on the trees.
Where space opens up.
And you feel a moment of warmth.

Goodness. Float. Glow.

This is what the Motherbody Movement is about.

Not just helping you understand what’s hard.
But helping you reconnect with what is also there, underneath it.

What feels good.
What feels alive.
What feels like you.

And this is what the Motherbody Movement is interested in.

Inside, you’ll be met exactly where you are. There’s no fixing, rushing, or pushing. Instead there’s space for you to unwind, reconnect, and to feel stronger.

This is how you begin to feel like yourself again.

Inside you’ll:

  • Find weekly classes, monthly Circles, and seasonal somatic practices that help you return to yourself

  • Reconnect with your core and pelvic floor in a way that feels safe and nourishing

  • Settle your nervous system through gentle, kind, and repeatable somatic practices

  • Rebuild strength without urgency or pressure

  • Feel connected to other mums, and less alone in all that you’re carrying

This is care that meets you inside Motherhood, inside real life.

In sleep deprivation, with a crying baby or sick toddlers, with sore shoulders and aching hips, prolapse or abdominal separation, this meets you right in the middle of life with young children.

You might be here if:

  • You’re a mama past the early postpartum weeks, feeling tired and depleted, and not sure how to best care for yourself anymore.

  • You might be rebuilding after pregnancy or birth (even years later) and looking for postpartum-informed movement to support your body - especially if you’re living with hip, back or pelvic pain, abdominal separation, prolapse, or deep exhaustion. This is more than a standard fitness class.

  • You’ve been holding it all together for a long time. Functioning, coping, getting through the days, even when it’s felt overwhelming. Calm on the outside, chaos on the inside. And underneath that, moments of goodness can still be found, even if they’re small, even if they come and go.

  • Your baby has outgrown mums & bubs classes, and finding childcare makes regular classes hard to access. But your body still needs movement, and you’re craving connection with other mums.

  • You want help integrating rehab or physio-informed exercises into real life at home, without needing to remember everything on your own.

  • You’re not looking for quick fixes, high-intensity workouts, or bounce-back culture.

  • You want to rebuild strength and capacity in a way that feels kind and sustainable, not exhausting.

  • You want to do this alongside other mums who understand the invisible load of mothering in a world that doesn’t prioritise your needs.

  • You're longing to feel more like yourself again - not just get through the days, but to reconnect with moments of goodness, steadiness, and something that feels like you.

How do We care for you?

Our six pillars of Motherbody Care:

  1. Self care
Practical, gentle support for your body and nervous system, even when self care feels impossible.

  2. Community care
A shared space with other mamas who understand the real load of Mothering. Feel supported just exactly as you are.

  3. Extended care
Support that continues beyond early postpartum, because recovery and integration take time, often years, particularly when your system has been living under sustained load.

  4. Layers of care
Core recovery, nervous system support, education, somatic practices, and community all working together, so you don’t have to hold motherhood alone anymore.

  5. Accessible care
Flexible, on-demand support you can connect with from home, around your children, your energy, and real life, helping you stay connected to yourself, even when life feels full.

  6. Ritual care
Daily, weekly, and monthly self-care and oxytocin-boosting practices that create a steady container of support, especially when your needs feel invisible but your labour is essential.

You don’t need to understand all of this to be here, these pillars simply shape how I hold the work.

Come join us and be supported in the long years of motherhood.

  • Cecilia, Mama of 2

“I joined when my son was 18 months old and I still felt completely broken after birth. Sophie’s classes are the first movement that hasn’t made my body worse. I finally feel stronger and calmer again.”

  • Terri, mama of 1

“Being a part of Sophie's Motherbody Membership is such a privilege - this is a really special program. Sophie's approach to movement and the maternal body is so incredibly kind, supportive and intelligent. Her guidance has been truly invaluable to me. I'm 2.5 years post-partum and being able to join this program from home every week has been especially appreciated through the chaos of early motherhood! I can't recommend the Motherbody Membership enough.”

  • Ruby, mama of 2

"After doing a class with Sophie, I always feel relaxed but also like my body has been switched on. The movements are really focused and thoughtful, gentle but strong, and always relevant to how I move and work my body every day as a Mum. I started pilates with Sophie while I was pregnant and have been part of the Motherbody membership for two years now, and I love it. The online content means I can access videos whenever suits me, and I can pick out ones with particular exercises that I know work my body well, but there are also weekly online classes to attend which keeps me accountable and helps me feel like I'm part of a community. Would definitely recommend giving it a go if you've had a baby - even if you had your baby ages ago!"

  • Mara, mama of 2

"I’m doing between 1-3 classes/ week and really noticing the difference. I tend to do the core/ lower abs 1hr long class. And I’m feeling so much stronger and with less lower back pain- hooray! ... I’m really happy with the membership. I access it when I can, and I do which class resonates with me on the day. My time is limited and so it’s nice knowing it’s there when I can get to it... I guess this is why the membership has worked so well for me, because I can get to it whenever I have a gap."

  • Kelly, mama of 1

“Having done Pilates for years, I underestimated the impact of birth on my pelvic floor, alignment, and core. Sophie’s postnatal classes helped me tune into my body’s needs and set me on a gentle yet effective path to functional recovery. Her classes are deeply informed, delivered with warmth and clarity, and I feel completely confident in her teaching.”

  • Olivia, mama of 2

“The class was so gentle and encouraging and also satisfyingly strong. It cajoled me into moving my body when I didn't really feel like it, and I didn't feel exhausted at all. Instead I felt rejuvenated.”

  • Maddie, mama of 2

“Even though I haven’t done the classes every day, I can feel my body slowly getting stronger and more stable. Sophie’s guidance is gentle, clear, and full of kindness.”

  • Liz, mama of 1

“The classes helped me reconnect with my body even when I was completely exhausted. They are trauma-informed, paced perfectly, and so grounding.”

  • Sarah, mama of 3

“I’ve been feeling short of breath all morning, and after the class, I felt myself breathing more deeply and freely. Sophie’s classes are a real gift.”

  • Gill, mama of 1

"Sophie’s Pilates class was the perfect way to reconnect with my body after a traumatic birth. The focus on pelvic floor and lower ab strength has been vital for getting back to normal life."

  • Rosie, mama of 2

“The pilates sessions with you have been AMAZING! They’re such a wonderful way to take time for myself each week while strengthening my body. I really like how the classes have progressed to explain 360 breathing and all-encompassing pelvic floor work.”

  • Kate, mama of 1

“I would absolutely recommend the Motherbody membership to any woman postpartum - it's really enriched my postpartum experience and helped me take pride in my body again. I've picked up so many different tricks and tools that I use multiple times a day"

  • Keleigh, mama of 2

“I’ve loved participating in Sophie’s online Pilates. The platform is easy to use, the instructions are clear, and the recorded classes mean I can practice whenever it suits me. I always feel strong, supported, and energised after a session, both physically and mentally.

Where recovery is held, not rushed

Hi, I’m Sophie.

I help mothers stay connected to themselves through movement, mothercare, bodywork, and perinatal somatic practices.

So when you feel sore, lost, foggy, or fatigued, I support you to feel more like yourself again through gentle movement, nervous system support, and practical mothercare.

Because motherhood asks a lot of us. And while we can't always change the challenges we face, we can learn to stay close to what feels nourishing, steady, alive, and good.

My work is grounded in a simple question:

How do we stay in contact with ourselves and to life inside motherhood?

As a postnatal doula, Pilates teacher, Shiatsu therapist, perinatal somatic practitioner, and a mother myself. And my own experience of motherhood has deeply shaped this work and continues to inform how I support mothers, both in-home and through The Motherbody Movement.

This online community is a movement of care. Created by a mother, for mothers, and sustained through the understanding that none of us were meant to do this alone.

If you're longing to feel more like yourself again, and to find a felt sense of goodness in your body and life, you're warmly welcome here.

We’ll meet you where you are, with real conversation, nourishing movement, and wholehearted support.
