Hi, I’m Sophie!
I help mums heal from birth trauma and recover from postpartum injuries and depletion.
Part clinician, part space holder, part advocate, a former dancer and full-time unschooling mother - my journey in and out of connection with my own body has shaped how I support others, both in-home and online through The Motherbody Way.
This community offers a sanctuary of healing, movement, and connection -where mums can let go of unrealistic expectations, restore core function, and rediscover community and care.
Inside, I guide mothers away from the pressure to “fix” themselves and toward an understanding of how our systems and surroundings shape recovery. It’s a truly holistic, trauma-informed space—welcoming all bodies and brains, just as they are.

(normally $197)A self-paced 6-module course covering the essential foundations of postpartum core recovery - pelvic floor, deep abs, breathing, alignment, and more. This course complements the membership and helps you get the most from weekly Motherbody Way classes by teaching six key Movement Foundations for effective core recovery.

Weekly LIVE Postpartum Pilates class
Online Saturdays, 9 am Melbourne time, all recorded (4 per month). Classes cycle through seasonal themes:
Summer - Upper back & shoulders. Autumn - Breathing & arms. Winter - Alignment, back and legs. Spring - Rotation & side body.
Every class includes a focus on the Deep Core -pelvic floor and abs!

Weekly Motherhood Circles (online)
This is the Mothers Group you wish you had.
A mix of all the practices I’ve learnt as a postpartum doula are integrated into this weekly circle. This is a place that helps you untangle your thoughts, emotions and beliefs that surround motherhood and learn how they are affecting our bodies.
Women don’t have much of a chance to explore the big life events we go through such as breastfeeding, birth, pregnancy, fertility issues, postpartum challenges, sleep deprivation. These experiences all affect our bodies in ways we often don’t anticipate and are huge milestones in our lives that need time to be reflected on in reverence.

Monthly LIVE Workshops & Q&A's
Held on the third Thursday of every month 7.30 -8.30 pm to support you as you move deeper into motherhood.
1st month of each season is a Bodycare workshop - guided self oil massage and oxytocin boosting planning for the season.
2nd month of the season is a Mothercare workshop - exploring the emotions associated with motherhood. Joy. Worry. Grief & Love. Fear & Courage. Anger & Power.
3rd month of each season is a guided Breathwork session - to help you feel both refreshed and deeply relaxed.

Quarterly Self Care & Movement Immersions
One 6 week self care immersion every other season guided by the five principles of postpartum care.
One x 6 week movement immersion every other season guided by the six movement foundations of Postpartum Core Recovery.
Create a habit of self care. Develop a home movement practice. Bring more kindness towards your body. Rather than taking you outside of motherhood to get you the care you so desperately need, these immersions help you figure out ways to bring more love and care towards yourself inside of Motherhood.

On Demand Library
You’ll gain immediate access to a huge library of previously recorded Postpartum Pilates classes, workshops and circles, all with a focus on Postpartum Recovery.
Classes are organised into seasons, months, themes. Each class has a description with timing guidelines help you choose the class you need for your body on any given day.
Classes vary from a full 45-50 mins to short 5 min videos of specific exercises for when you have just a couple of minutes to spare.

It’s an online monthly Postpartum Core Recovery membership designed specially for mums looking for actual postpartum support rather than 'bounce back' advice or just the basic six week check.
Drawing on principles from Postpartum Care, Core Recovery, Pilates, and Shiatsu, the Motherbody membership will support you to alleviate pain, feel stronger, connect with other mums, and reconnect with your incredible Mamabody.
Working with seasonal, monthly, and weekly cycles, you'll be able to develop a rhythm for self care whilst weaving a regular practice of restorative movement into your everyday life as a tired mama.

It's ideal for tired, overwhelmed, sensitive mums who are struggling to prioritise self care or finding it difficult to leave the house and who know there must be so much more to Mothercare than just 'bouncing back' or 'losing the baby weight.'
If you want specific support for postpartum recovery, core rehabilitation, and ongoing Mothercare, the Motherbody Way is for you!
It's a kind, reflective, educational, and supportive space filled with reverence for your incredible birthing body.
If you just want to bust out some 'burpees', or judge other Mums this is probably not for you.

You need to be six weeks postpartum to join the live classes inside the membership. If you want something sooner, you could do Motherbody Core Foundations - my six week on demand course that guides you through the foundations of early Postpartum Core Recovery.

Nope. Never too Late! As long as you've given birth at some point in your life whether that was six months or six years or 16 years ago, you're welcome to join us! Most of the current members are actively mothering young children, however all Mothers who want support with Postpartum Core Recovery are welcome.

👉🏽 You'll receive a welcome email with log in details so you can log in and have a look around. You can do a pre recorded class, workshop, or circle right away!
👉🏽 LIVE weekly pilates class runs Sat 9 am, and monthly Mothercare Circles run every third Thurs 7.30pm. (Everything runs on Melbourne time.)
👉🏽 You'll get a reminder email with a zoom link sent to you before every session.
👉🏽 Recordings are added to the membership platform and a link is sent out to you within 24 hrs. So if you miss a session, you can do the recording. (Plenty of people just do the recordings as they can't make the live time!)

Absolutely! Movement is always adaptable to your needs. The Motherbody membership is all about caring for your body where it’s at, letting you do as much or as little as feels right. Plus, I check in at the start and end of every class to support you with any injuries, helping you get stronger safely over time.

Sometimes!
👉🏽 A spiky ball or massage ball, or a tennis ball.
👉🏽 A theraband or stretchy band is super useful.
👉🏽 Two small hand weights for the Summer and Autumn classes - two tins of beans or jars of water will be fine too.
👉🏽 If you don't have any of these, don't worry, honestly all the classes can be done without equipment. You will need space on the floor to lie down though.
👉🏽 For the Bodycare circle, you'll need some massage oil. I use sesame oil, but olive, or coconut, or any massage oil that you like will do!

You can cancel at any time. There are no refunds, but you do get one week free so you can jump in, have a look around, trial a class, and see if it's the right thing for you!

The Motherbody Wayis a gentle Holding Space for Mothers during those early years when you feel vulnerable, tired and like you're in an entirely new body.
The Motherbody Way won't turn you into an athlete and it won't give you a six pack in 6 weeks either.
It WILL hold you tenderly though when you're feeling sleep deprived, under supported and over stretched.
It WILL support you through the physical and emotional challenges of motherhood to help you feel replenished and regenerated rather than wiped out and exhausted.
